Dr Michelle is an innovative nursing leader with 30 years of international healthcare experience leading nursing and multidisciplinary teams in professional practice transformation, operations and technology application implementations. She is a subject matter expert in the delivery of healthcare education as well as change processes to elevate professional practice, operational excellence and workforce efficiencies.
Michelle obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (Executive Leadership) from the University of San Francisco, California and her master’s degree in Nursing from University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
She has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national and international nursing and informatics conference.

He is a speaker and the author of 10 best-selling books. He built a superior reputation in human capital and social development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Business-Situational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, United States.
Ms. Ruth Frey
Vice President, Global Strategy and Business Development Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
As Vice President, Ruth is responsible for the strategic direction of CHOP’s Global Medicine activities. She has developed and currently leads teams implementing strategies for all key CHOP markets, including Latin America, Caribbean, the GCC Countries, Canada, and China. She also oversees new international initiatives and relationships, aiming to increase CHOP’s global footprint and impact.
Ruth has established unique programs and collaborations with key partners around the world. She has expertise in creating programs that leverage CHOP’s clinical innovation and align with overall hospital strategies and departmental goals. Programs developed by Ruth link CHOP clinical and research leaders with international colleagues, to facilitate access to innovative treatments in Philadelphia and to develop local pediatric expertise globally.
As Vice President, Ruth is responsible for developing and maintaining high-level international relationships on behalf of CHOP. She has extensive experience working with ministries of health, embassies, insurance companies, and hospitals. She has assumed responsibility for CHOP’s Global Health and Global Education Programs, ensuring a strategic impact on healthcare for children across the world.
Ruth has been with CHOP for over 39 years. Her experience spans a wide range of clinical care settings, from the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, to the emergency and transport services, to CHOP’s primary care practices. She played an instrumental role in establishing CHOP’s Global Patient Services department establishing diverse international team members and their roles, as well as the overall operations structure of the department.
Ruth is a frequent lecturer for professional organizations on the state of children’s health globally, and sits on the Advisory Committee of the US Cooperative for International Patient Programs, and the Moran Center for Global Leadership, Villanova University School of Business.

During her tenure as the Director of Nursing for Quality, Patient Safety, and Accreditation at Cleveland Clinic Hospital Abu Dhabi, the organization received the prestigious ‘Magnet Award,’ the first in the UAE. Cathy also collaborated with the learning and development team on a coaching program aimed at fostering leaders’ growth and supporting their personal and professional development, which has since become a lifelong passion for her.
Currently serving as the Founder & CEO of ‘OakTree Mentoring,’ an internationally award-winning mentorship program for nurses and midwives, accredited by the EMCC Global. Cathy’s involvement in healthcare start-ups, her extensive clinical experience, with a passion for quality, has provided her with a deep understanding of the behaviors that drive and sustain high performance, particularly in advocating for and delivering impactful change and best practices in delivering high-quality patient care. Cathy established OakTree Mentoring to provide such crucial support. The program currently supports over 200+ nurses in 50+ countries around the world and continues to grow. The program has established mentorship support for hospital systems internationally, with a focus on design, developement, implementation and evaluation, address pressing, unique challenges within their systems.
Cathy holds a degree in nursing and midwifery, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Project Management, and is a certified ‘Crucial Conversations’ practitioner. Bahraini national, Nurse Midwife Dr. Naeema Al Gasseer , WHO Representative in Egypt and Head of Mission since August 2020 , has over thirty five years experience at country, regional and international level in the areas of health system, humanitarian and development to protect health and health security accountably calling for health as a bridge for peace.
Educated in Bahrain, Lebanon and received her Doctoral Degree from University of Illinois at Chicago, USA in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Sciences. In all her functions she has been instrumental to advocate for informed policy decision making through support to research taking rights based approach in setting strategies in health priorities beside have been active in bringing the voice of youth, women , disabled, refugees and migrants.
Joined WHO in 1996 seconded to UNFPA Country Support Team based in Amman as Regional Advisor in Reproductive Health followed by her appointment by WHO Director General in 1999 as Senior Scientist for Nursing and Midwifery responsible for the coordination and integration of nursing and midwifery issues in the work of WHO policy and prorammes . The first WHO Global Nursing and Midwifery Strategy (2002 – 2006) presented to Ministers’ of Health at World Health Assembly Interim that brought partnership of nine International Entities including International Confederation of Midwives.
She has received: Honorary Award Doctorate of Science (DSci) from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK in 2005; American Academy of Nursing Fellowship Award in 2010 ; University of Illinois highest Alumni Achievements Awards in 2014; bestowed by His Majesty the King of Bahrain with The First Rank Award for Competence by in December 2016; Leadership Award in Social Responsibility from the Arab Regional Network for Social Responsibility in Arab world in Kuwait in 2018.
She has served as WHO Assistant Regional Director based in Cairo covering 22 countries responsible for emergencies, humanitarian response and research for health. She has also served as WHO Representative in Iraq, Egypt, Sudan and led Libya Crisis in 2011. She coordinated Health & Nutrition Cluster and was delegated the role of Iraq UN Humanitarian Coordinator several times; has been instrumental in ensuring the full coordination between the UN Agencies, NGOsand Development partners including civil society and private sectors to work with clear strategies and plans of assistance to people. Has demonstrated success in bringing multi sectors and multidiscipline to develop health strategies in several countries.

Professor Lisa Marie (Bayliss) Pratt trained as a Registered Nurse in the UK from 1996 to 1999. With a career in healthcare spanning over two decades, Lisa has held positions at both local, national, and international levels. From working as a frontline nurse in the private and public sector, to influencing national health education policy, as the Chief Nurse of Health Education England, to programme directing a global early careers nursing leadership initiative that was part of raising the profile and status of nursing globally, namely Nursing Now in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the International Council of Nursing.

Dr. Jafaru Abu is a Consultant Gynaecologist based in Abu Dhabi
Dr. Abu specialises in the treatment of the entire spectrum of gynaecological cancers and is well renowned for his exceptional ability to perform complex key-hole procedures.
When Dr. Jafaru Abu was based in the United Kingdom he ran a very busy NHS practice which was based at Nottingham City Hospital and his private practice was at The Park Hospital Nottingham and Nottingham Spire Hospital.
Dr. Jaf Abu has a special interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and was one of the first gynaecologists in the United Kingdom to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS), a “scarless” procedure.
Dr. Abu was instrumental in the introduction of total laparoscopic (keyhole) hysterectomy (TotLapHyst) for the management of endometrial cancer and later for surgical management of cervical cancer at the Nottingham University Hospitals, United Kingdom. He also regularly performs keyhole fertility preservation surgery for early stages of cervical cancer in young women.
Dr. Abu also treats advanced ovarian cancers aiming to achieve complete tumour resection. This procedure is currently only performed by a handful of gynaecological oncologists as it requires a more advanced surgical oncology training.

Having worked in the NHS for over 30 years as a children’s nurse, Lynn has held senior leadership, education, and clinical roles at Great Ormond Street and at a partner University. Lynn has previously worked as Academic Course Director for the Advanced Clinical Practice MSc programme and as Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner at the Children’s Acute Transport Service at Great Ormond Street, specialising in Children’s Critical Care.

Dr Tracy is a registered nurse and a certified Advanced Midwife has been awarded with a DBA, Batchelor of public health, MBA, M.Sc. Healthcare management, and has a Master of Applied Business Research; she is a qualified hypnobirthing instructor and has a diploma in Aromatherapy, Herbalist, Reflexology and Naturopathy. Tracy has a registered Midwife license with DoH. She also has a certificate from Harvard Medical School for training to teach medicine as well as a fellow of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeon Ireland (RCSI).
Tracy has a great passion for quality midwifery care, obstetric emergencies and pioneered all the first private hospital water births in KZN South Africa. Tracy is also a certified BLS instructor, NRP instructor as well as a PROMPT instructor. She is an invited faculty member or the PROMPT foundation in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Zakaria Zaki Al Attal is senior consultant for organizational development and international accreditation at the MOH/ UAE and the Director of Quality at Emirates Health Services (EHS). He is responsible to facilitate the development of quality and patient safety program in the MOH. Dr Al Attal is the main advisor in the (EHS) to quality, patient safety and international accreditation. He is chairing the Quality Forum of the EHS to oversee the quality program and facilitate the international accreditation of around 100 health care facilities at EHS. Before joining MOH/UAE, Zakaria was the director of quality and performance management at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)- hospital service sector.
He was responsible to oversee the quality, risk management, performance management, excellence and accreditation programs in the four governmental hospitals and specialized centers of the Dubai Health Authority. He is a recognized trainer and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) as well as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety by National Patient Safety Foundation in the USA, (NPSF).
He is a lecturer at the Dubai Medical College since 2011 on quality and patient safety based on the WHO recommended curriculum for medical students. He is a member in the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), Zakaria works as an Independent Consultant with the Joint Commission International since February 2006. Zakaria is an expert in implementing and introducing quality concepts in organizations through managing different challenges to enhance the quality and patient safety of health care services.
Dr. Zakaria trained more than 3000 Health Care Professionals on CPHQ, CPPS and other programs through conducting more than 100 courses in different countries in the region.
